Changing Dial from Black to White

I really want a PP 5085 with a white dial. I just can’t find one anywhere.

So, I am considering changing the dial from black to white after I buy one.

I have no idea where to start. Is it possible? Is it sensible? Is it costly? Should I just keep looking? Should I learn to like the black dial?

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.
TIA

I recently enquired about a dial colour change for my 5980. Yes its possible as long as the dial is available, however you will not get your dial back, so your certificate of origin will then not match your watch.

Can you put the Blue Dial from the two tone 5980 into your SS Version? Now that would be awesome!

I doubt they allow this ,you can replace dials which are originally available for the certain reference.

I didn't ask, but agree with George it would be unlikely, unfortunately.

Interesting.

So say for the SS 5980 you could change dial from blue to white (or vica versa) but not to say the Brown or the Blue from the PM versions?

Yes, you can do that, but see my comments above re certificate of origin and not keeping the original dial.

Saw those and noted.

Thanks for the response - didn't know (or expect!) PP would be willing to do this.

I seriously doubt it, if yes then I would love to get a 5980 and put either the 1R dial or the 1AR...

How much did they want for the dial change Russ?

I would not do it even if they would. For PP I would want all of the paper work to match the watch. Not to mention how long it would take and the cost of the dial and the installation. Better to find what you want. In the end it make more sense to me.

They didn't give me a price. They said if I wanted to do the dial swap to get my AD to send the watch to Rhone and I would get a written estimate 4-5 days after it was received. I was told though that it would be an "exchange" price (as original dial not returned) so I think the cost should be reasonable(ish!).
