Just ordered my first Rolex! Will I need more links?
Just ordered and paid for my very first Rolex.
I went for the Explorer I 39mm 214270 (The latest version, lumed 3 6 9 & longer hands). Brand new, no stickers though, which is weird but fine... I've got several other luxury brands including PP... but I wanted a more everyday watch... I even managed to get a discount from £4,800 to £4,600. It should arrive on Tuesday (was done online). I'm very excited it will be my first "Sports" watch in a long long time. My very first watch ever was an Omega Seamaster Professional Automatic Bond era 1999 when I was ~15 years old... Since the age of 20 ish I've been very into my dressy watches. I can't wait to get it! I will post an incoming thread with pictures on Tuesday! Only thing I'm worried about is whether it will fit... I've got a 8.5" wrists, tempted to order an extra link / or maybe 2? What do you guys think? Thanks for any advice guys! James |

Hello, congratulations that is a nice watch.
I have it with a 7.5 inch wrist and I wear it with all the links, fine adjustment on the clasp on the bigger size and the easylink extension retracted most of the time, sometimes if I feel it tight I extend it. I think that you will be needing extra links.

How large are the links? Trying to work out how many I'll need.

 I have 8” wrists. I need at least one extra link with everything except a Submariner with a Glidelock.

Yes I bought an Airking last month 8 inch wrist needed one extra link you most probably will need 2

I have a DJ41 and an 8" wrist. It fits perfectly with the easylink extended. You will surely need extra links for your 8.5" wrist.

Right well I've ordered 2 and ill hope for the best.... if I need more... I'll be putting it on a nato whilst another 1 comes!
Having larger wrists can be awesome for wearing watches... but I'm jealous of you guys that dont have to buy extra links all the time... Thank you guys so much for the help and especially getting your callipers out! Fantastic <3 |

I have the DJ41 Jub, a 7.25 wrist, one link removed, easy link extended, and sometimes I wish I had just a tinge more. I imagine that 8” and over you need more than the links supplied with the watch.
