I prefer the black dial with the ceramic bezel. I prefer the white dial with the steel bezel....sounds like you’ve got the best of both worlds with these options

I had a white dial DaytonaC for about 1.75 years before being able to pick up the black. At first I liked the white better, it was no contest. However the the black has grown on me in the last 6 months to the point that I begrudgingly prefer the black over the white. There’s just something about that black bezel with the black dial that makes it intoxicating.

Both are keepers and slated to to hand down to the children, but if I could only have one watch, it would be the black. If I could only have one Daytona, it would be the white as black faces are more common and already have a BLNR so the white mixes it up.

black is far nicer of the two in my humble opinion but the white is more legible.

i sold the black because of legibility but based on looks alone, easily my favorite rolex of all time.

it is really disappointing to find a watch so nice only to be impacted by legibility... my eyes aren't perfect but i do not wear nor need glasses throughout the day... i do need a bit of light to read a menu in a dark restaurant.

Plus just over $13k out the door including tax, can’t beat that.

AD told me be sure you want the black one because the demand is so high they don’t get enough ceramic Daytona’s to allow me to buy another one (like a white faced one) anytime soon.

They removed all stickers and filled out the warranty card. This they said is a small measure to try to keep people from flipping them. I said no worries there as this one is a keeper, either for me or perhaps for my son.

Anyway, I’m a happy camper and I really appreciate all of the thoughts, opinions, and comments today. Everyone helped out a lot
Congrats!!! I knew if you went to check it out physically you wouldn't be leaving without purchasing it!

+1. Now that I have my Black on Black on my wrist, don’t know what I was thinking. Can’t go wrong either way but I am VERY happy with my 115600LN-002 Daytona. It is stunning. Personally I think the whole
watch just pops. I like my white 115620, but this one is just WOW. The white engraving on the ceramic blends perfectly with the sub dials. Bad pic, but here ya go

Hi guys! Had the same dilemma and in the end as I couldn't decide I ended up with both! It is the same watch but the dial color makes it a completely different one. Both are gorgeous!

Many thanks to my AD which is also a friend of mine!

Just go with the white dial, i feel white dials are easily read only if that also matters to you.

congrats! That is one watch i hope i can get ... one day. I am on a few "lists" but i'm not getting my hopes up as these are pretty much unobtainium now and I would like to buy one from an AD.

Personally, I much prefer the 116520 white index dial over either ceramic; but if you can't resist a ceramic, I'd go for the black dial - it is quite sharp.

Also when the bezel color matches the sub dials like it does on the white.
Well, the white version might be shown in a YouTube video, but the black version is definitely the star of the official Rolex brochure on the reference.

I was holding out for a white face version, but out of frustration after waiting close to 2 years for a white face version (I turned down 2 or 3 black faced ones he got) I very recently purchased an as new 116520 white face model with that still has a few stickers on it. It has a 2016 warranty card so is one of the last 116520's produced. To me the 116520 white face and stainless bezel is sharper looking than the 115600LN white face, but then the ceramic bezel contrasts nicely with the white face.

So now I am in a quandary as to what to do. I think I have the answer: buy the 115600LN Black and keep the 116520. A guy can't have too many Daytonas....that model is by far my favorite Rolex! And while I also have a 24k version with black face, for me the stainless Daytonas are the sharpest. Another option is sell the 116520 and buy a white 115620LN when he gets one. I love em all!

Opinions/thoughts welcome. I guess what I am really looking for is opinions on white vs black 115600's. Thanks
I recently got the black dial and love it. I realize this wasn't mentioned in your post, but if you decide you want to unload your gold daytona, pm me!

If I was buying one myself as my only Daytona I think I would go with the white dial.
If I already had a white dial model with SS bezel I would go with the black.

You said that you have already turned down some black dials waiting for the white.

Do you know for sure that you are next in line for a white dial? If you've been waiting 2 years already and your not top of the list you could be waiting a whole lot longer too.

You have the two best Daytona. Black dial looks great with black bezel. White dial looks great with steel.

I was next in line for whichever one the AD got in stock....as you know white ones are more difficult to come by. Originally I wanted the white dial and turned down black dials to get a white dial. Finally after waiting 2 years I gave up on the ceramic white dial and just before Christmas bought the 115620 in white which I like a LOT and to me is a classic. AD called again this week saying he just got another ceramic/black dial and would I be interested. Since I already had the 115620 in white, I went for it. Now that I have it I think it is stunning to say the least. I am now no longer on the Daytona waiting list for any ceramic Daytona with this AD. You get only one from them, I chose black, so if I want a white one I’ll have to go elsewhere. But I am tickled pink with both of the watches, and I am through buying Daytona’s since I now have 3. Through for now at least

Here’s numero tres:

Black ceramic, white stainless and gold Newman dial make for a great lineup. Definitely solid choices. Congrats on all three.

Of the ADs I've asked about the 116500, all have said they receive more white than black dials but demand for white is exponentially higher. So, black might anecdotally be more rare. I like the black dial better myself.

Black dial. White is too stark for my taste. Originally ordered white but black came in first so went with it, and glad I did on reflection.

Both nice though, can’t really go wrong!

White is smarter and wears a little larger. So depends on what look you’re after.

I prefer white in the ceramic and black in the older model but like wine watches are something each person decides on their own what they like.

Now that I’ve had the black on black Daytona for almost a week I can now say, ‘what the hell was I thinking’? I originally wanted the black/white version, but now that I have the black/black I absolutely love it. It really POPS!! Don’t get me wrong, the black/white version is wonderful as well, but I can honestly say I am very happy I wound up with the black/black. It’s stunning. Oh...after over 5 days of ownership the accuracy is within 0.5 seconds!!
