i would really like to see a black dial option but other than that the new case looks great if they dont offer a black dial i will most likely pick up a LN and pick up the older lv.

Hmmm
I am considering this watch as my first Rolex. I currently own a Breitling Super-Ocean with a coral dial. I like the unusual dial colors and that's what got me interested in this watch. Is this the only green dial watch in the Rolex lineup? Were there any other green dials in previous models?

It's nice. But I'm glad I got my non-ceramic LV when I did!

Wow, lots of negative attention for this watch. I actually like it. It may be my first Rolex purchase.

I feel like i would like this watch better in person but im not a fan of the crown guards, makes the watch look more rugged and durable but i have never liked that look. Overall though it is a beautiful watch, i heard it looks "bigger" but obviously its still a 40mm....i would like to see it in person..

does anyone know what the other side of the glide lock looks like?
meaning: does it still look like the submariner clasp on the other side or does it look like the glidelock on the 18k gold submariners? |

Any news on what the release date is going to be on this watch? I really like the new LV and would like to see one in person in a shop.

I thought the current LV is already an attention grabber... but this new one will be even more so.... we'll see what happens... :)

I guess I have to see it in person but these hi-res pics aren't doing it for me. The green dial seems a bit over-the-top and I'm not a fan of the ceramic bezels (even though I have the DSSD). I definitely like the less shiny satin finish green bezel on my LV. I wonder if I can retrofit the new glidelock bracelet on to my LV - now that would awesome!

I think it's stunning. Almost enough so to distract me from my quest of obtaining a GMT Master II as my first Rolex acquisition

I just saw the new ceramic Sub in July/August 2010 Departures magazine
in Green / Green dial - list price $7,725. That's quite a jump from $6,400 list for the LV Green/Black combination but there are lots of upgrades on it. I think it will be tough to like at first & then grow me over some time like the SS/plat Yachmaster did ~ back to saving for a new watch! |

I don't mind the green dial so much, but I just can't get past the super case. I think the profile and the proportions of the previous line is perfect...a classic!
Plus, I always prefer Matte finishes and so I don't care for the high shine on the ceramic bezel inserts. |
