Newbie - price increase??

I have two Rolexes - a 20 year old GMT Master w/ Pepsi bezel, and a 35 year old Datejust two tone, both absolutely pristine. About to pull the trigger on a GMTII ceramic. Question - when was the last time Rolex increased the prices on their watches and is another bump in price planned? I would like to buy this week - what is the very best I can do on a new GMTII? If there is to be an increase, when is it planned? Anyone know? Thanks!!

There are always rumours about this. Prices have just gone up 3% in Singapore. Here in the UK there was a suggestion of a 7 -10-% increase but none of the ADs that I have spoken to know anything about this. Play a few ADs off against each other for the best price. Rare to get a discount on a SS model.
Buy now, the prices never go down!

GMTII is very popular. My AD wanted list. I just bought one a couple of weeks back right here on TRF. Check out the wanted to buy & sell section and then make sure of the seller in the Who is Who on TRF section.

Oh and BTW - Welcome and you will love the GMT IIc.

Let TRF be your "AD". Unless you want it in your hand immediately, chances are you won't get a better price at a brick and mortar. Good luck

Welcome Phil.

Sounds like you already have a couple excellent pieces with an amazing history.

The IIc would make a supurb addition. It's THAT good.

Compare prices from an AD, but don't overlook some of the good people on TRF.

If you are patient and shop a bit, you just may get a discount. I visited an AD three or 4 times with my Sub on my wrist and tried on the GMT in various finishes. Told them I was wanting it and was "working" on my wife to see if I could get her to agree with a costly purchase. I really wanted the 18ky yg butjust can't swing that at this point in my life. I called one day after finally getting the go ahead from my wife for the SS version and made them the offer I wanted which was a 15% discount and no interest financing. They called me back very quickly to agree. Some will bargain, others not. If you have the cash, it appears you can save some money here on TRF with some of our reputable sellers.

By the way, the SS GMTllC is a great watch. I absolutely love mine.

The FS forum could be your AD, just be careful, of course.

As far as discounts, there are plenty of discounts the AD's are offering, I was in an AD during Christmas time at a large AD on LI, he offered me 10% on a GMTII SS ceramic without even asking. So if an AD will not give you a discount, take a walk. This was mentioned in an article in the WSJ a few weeks ago, Swiss watch sales are down heavily in the US, and people walk without a discount. "List Price" --what is that?

I wouldn't buy without a significant (at least 10%) discount. Deals are out there. I really do love my two (hopefully, soon to be three) Rolexes. I've heard nothing but great things about the GMT Master IIc. Going to try one on today and hoping it feels right. I know it certainly looks incredible.

BTW, being a newbie on the forum, I'm assuming TRF is "The Rolex Forum" (?) but what is "AD"? Sorry for being ignorant on the terminology.

AD = authorized dealer

aka people who used to not discount on SS models, but now have to in order to stay in business.

You know the rest of the country are getting great discount when NorCal is getting at least 10% without even being asked.

In fact, ordered the GMT MasterIIc from an AD this AM. Should have it in a couple of days! Thanks for your help - great forum.
