While taking some photos of my LV to post on here, my desk lamp fell hitting the set-up I had on my desk causing a chain reaction where my Rolex to fall about 3 feet onto the hardwood floor. The crystal is fine, but the LV got its first scratch on the case. I'm sure I can have it buffed out, but it will never be the same. *sniff*

Well, I hope you enjoy the photo...note, a cluttered desk is not a good place to photograph things.

I put a real doozy on the LV today while packing up the good ole' PODS moving container. But, it is a Rolex after all and the scratch was just on the bracelet. But when I say scratch, I mean one you can see and feel.

Others say different, but I say they are meant to be worn and can be made to look like new whenver you want your watchmaker to do so.

my first lv scratch....ah i can remember it now: i was walking around my club and some waitress chick with dd's bumped into the top of my watch with 2 bottles of grey goose....what a way to go down...lol

The second scratch is the worst, because you just doubled the number of scratches on your watch in no time!

You're watch looks great. We all know that scratches are an inevitable consequence of wearing the watch. Best remedy I've found is to not examine the watch looking for scratches when you know you might have put one on. If you can't see any imperfections when looking at the watch while it's on your wrist at about waist level, then there are no scratches. Cheers,

I almost mauled my SD yesterday. I was playing basketball with 4 kids from the neighborhood. I hit a patch of pine needles in the driveway and hit the pavement hard. Skinned my elbow and my hand. Somehow the SD didn't make contact. I learned my lesson... take the watch off when playing basketball!

I remember the first scratch i got on my 116200.
Ashley put that one. Right on the bezel.
I almost had a heart attack when she did it.
I spent he rest of the day polishing it with my sleeve (we were out and about).
Poor watch.
Never saw her hand comin...

I have about dozen scratches on my TT GMT II, they are right about gold being soft.

Grab a Cape Cod Cloth (if it's a polished edge) and buff it right up. They can be found at most hardware stores and work wonders. Just do not use it on the brushed metal since it will shine that right up too.

Scratches!!!! Scratches!!!! Scratches!!!! Well I used to sweat them. Now I just leave them be as they show that you are wearing the watch as the tool it is meant to be. Also that it has stood loyally by your side through thick and thin. The crystal on the other hand I do polish scratches out. I have the acrylic cystal so when I do get scratches on it, I just polish them out with a little bit of Brasso.

You still have the LV, Daren? Jeez, I thought for sure it would have gone the way of all your watches by now. This must be some kind of record for you to hold onto a watch that long.

I've got a scratch on my 1 week old TT Datejust on the bazel and a tiny dent on the case. Does anyone know if RSC will be able to bring it back to "brand new" state? If so, will they charge service fee or is it considered warranty work? RSC dallas is closed until new year and I would like some comment from owners.

Such a shame. I barely got to enjoy the watch.
