NO CROWN GAURD PVD PICS! MODEM BURNER!! tell me what yuo think?

well,

after almost 3 months of waiting and dreaming, i finally got my sub back from Jack at IWW. he really is the best in the biz.. worth the wait and more.
there are others who do pvd out there, but if you are a watch nut like myself, and belong to different forums, then you already know, jack is the man for the job.

i was very specific on what i wanted done. i wanted my case and bezel bead blasted to have a very flat look. but i wanted the case back and bracelet to be left alone to the rolex factory finish. the bracelet prob won't get much wear time, as i love this watch on the nato's.. i switch between the grey and black nato with pvd hardware.

now, there are many who will think im crazy to have all this done to a rolex. but i think i did it with good taste. there is nothing aftermarket on the watch. everything is original. this is a V serial LV sub.
i have other rolex's that i would never touch, but when i bought this watch, i didnt buy it to baby it like my others. i wanted to have a fun watch that i could make one of a kind and very militare style. almost like the pro hunters out there, but the project X no crown gaurds really caught my eye. i loved the concept of no crown gaurds to pay homage to the 6538 big crown james bond.

anyways, i have my other rolex's that are stock..
this is a great weekend watch to wear once in a blue.
a conversation piece at that.

anyways i think after all this fuss and all these months i waited for all these mods, it is finally home and much enjoyed.
hope you enjoy the pics and i hope to hear what everyone thinks.

Very nice. I like the clean look of the crystal without the cyclops and very interesting with no crown guard as well!

I just cried one lone tear.

Just kidding actually it does look nice but I could never do that to a Rolex I guess I am too much of a purist.

Whatever makes you happy.

That looks absolutely wicked. Since IWW is literally 20 minutes from me, I've been mulling getting one of my watches PVD treated. Truly gorgeous piece there. Maxi dial, no guards, NATO, wowww......

I did enjoy the pics and the watch looks amazing. I never would have thought of grinding off the crown guards, but I am now convinced. I really really like this and would consider having this done. I usually don;t like overly customized items, but this keeps it class and low-key.

I wouldn't have it done, but the watch came out very nice! It looks very much like a tool watch. And the NATO looks great.

I would have left the crown guards but I think it looks amazing!

Two questions if you don't mind sharing:

1. How much did it cost?
2. How prone is it to scratches?

Thanks,

Eric
