Considering buying one of these Speedmasters

Hi guys

I'm considering buying a secondhand Speedmaster and I came across these two. I was hoping somebody could give me some advice since I know nothing about Omegas.

They are both about the same price.

Thanks.

The bottom piece by far. The top has a weird transition to the strap...IMO

That is because it is not the correct strap. The correct bracelet is as wide as the case.

The bottom one is an automatic, they wear quite small, the top one is manual wind and is a very big thick heavy watch.

Top one is from 70's bottom one from 90's

hi... I actually have the same speedmaster as the one above... my opinion is this type of case design only looks good with the original bracelet... it is indeed a very heavy watch and therefore needs a bracelet... but it's got good weight to it, feels solid and the 861 lemania is IMO one of the best movements Omega came out with...

Thanks for the info.

I was wondering about that strap. It just looks out of place.

Shows watch with correct bracelet. I used to have an MKII, it was my first good watch.

Have you considered a Moonwatch? When I finally got one it fast became one of my favorite watches.

Out of those two, go with the top one, an automatic speedmaster just doesn't seem right. The manual wind is the way to go for a speedy.

I have and they do look fantastic. I'm just trying to find a local seller right now who has stock at a reasonable price. I will post pics when I eventually pull the trigger but I'm in no rush.

Now that looks way better. The proportions are right.

Go With the 3513.50

The one on the bottom is really sharp.

I know.

I have it.

The bottom piece is a subproduct for the watch connoiseur wannabe market. It's beyond crap. (methinks)

I'd look for a CK 2998 speedmaster.

Or the ST105.002 which too has the cool beveled OMEGA logo on the dial.

The case design on the first one doesn't appeal to me.

I agree.. it kinda overtakes the dial. Too much case to the eye.
