What's the deal with this 702 crown?
I'm trying to find another 702 crown for my '73 sub, and this one is going for a price that isn't that bad. However, when I compare it to the crown on my '73 redsub (3.85 million serial#), it looks different. The Rolex crown doesn't have the three dots below it, like on mine. Is it really a 702 crown? Did the crowns come with and without dots? If there are different versions of it, will it fit the 702 tube I have? And would it look incorrect on my '73 Sub?

the case number of your watch has been produced at the end of 1974.
the correct crown is the 702 ( triplock without external gasket= washer ). the crown in your pics is a 700 ( twinlock ) that is correct for older watches made in the 60s. each crown has his own tube so you cannot swap them without changing also the tube. |

Thanks for the info. The seller was selling it as a 702, but I guess he was mistaken.
