Correct box for a 16750

Can anyone tell me the correct box for my 7.4 mil serial (1982) GMT Master. I have seen several boxes that claim to be correct for my watch but can't imagine Rolex had more than one. Thanks for the help. Justin

The photo below with the two-tone GMT should be the box for a watch sold in the USA. Around 1983/1984, the same box was changed, the difference being the leather grain patter was smaller on this box. The other photo below with the stainless 16750 GMT, with the black bezel insert, is the second generation box with the smaller leather grain pattern. Since your watch is on the cusp of when they changed boxes, either could be considered correct.

It should be either 67.00.03 or 67.00.08. Please see attached reference table from the database.

I hope it helps.

The referenced numbers posted by gbany are not USA box numbers - at least for the GMT 16750 sold in the USA. The manufacturer for the boxes in my previous post are made by Bufkor in the USA.

Correct box for a 16750

Thank you both for the help. How about these? Any idea what the 16750 /B means. Based on your posts one box would be correct for a US sold 16750 and the other for one sold outside the US. Thanks!! Justin

My 16750

My 16750 from about 1982. I am not the original owner but traded my 1675 GMT on this one around 2003. I wanted the bigger band as my 1675 had a rivet band. I wish I had them both but love my 16750. Justin

Your watch, if bought new in the US would have come in a bufkor box as seen above. There were two sizes of bufkor box, the larger for the sport models and the smaller for DJ, OD etc... Make sure you get the larger size.

Exactly. As Springer pointed out there were boxes made in Switzerland and those made in the US for the US market. The ones you have posted are correct. Specifically, the one made in Switzerland, is a 67.00.08 and is the same one I have since 1983. 16750/B, B stands for black dial.

Springer's box is correct. I owned a 16750 and that was the box and papers mine had.
