Better at what no matter the composition of the hairspring its all down to the final regulation in any mechanical movement perhaps better shock resistance in the silicon but would doubt if it would make any real difference.Well its true the Parachrom spring was developed in conjunction with a few others Patek was one,but they dropped out to develop there own spring, Parachrom is just a made up name for the metal used. The Breguet over-coil is just a design name for the hairspring used in Rolex watches for decade and that style of hairspring is not possible in silicon I would say thats why Rolex stuck to the parachrom. Most escapement hairsprings for the whole Swiss watch industry, were prior to the parachrom Rolex in-house and the rest of the brands, made and supplied from ETA Swatch owned Nivarox. Now perhaps thats the real reason for the development of the new Rolex in-house parachrom hairspring plus brands like Patek to make there silicone.Simply because the ETA Swatch group had such a strangle hold on all the Swiss watch industry with escapement parts.

The Silicium hairspring has slightly greater shock resistance due to its elasticity, but realistically, the difference between the two will be virtually impossible to tell
