Looking for a GMT
Im in the hunt for a GMT watch. Something in the 3-4K range. I am really considering the Omega 300M GMT, however do IWC, Breitling, B&M, TAG, or any brand have anything around that range?

If you want a German tool watch have you considered the Sinn U2 or the Sinn 857 UTC? I am crazy about both of mine.
Two other choices are either the Fortis B-42 GMT or the Fortis Spacematic GMT as both are excellent watches and part of my regular rotation. Cheers, Bill P. |

BTW, AAMD11, the watches I suggested are all less than $3K new. Cheers, Bill P.

For slightly more than $4K you can get a pre-loved GMT-Master II or GMT-Master I. I'd definitely save up for that instead of getting any alternatives. Just my $0.02.

My vote would go to a pre-owned UN GMT +- , I also have a Rolex GMT 11c.
The UN IMO is the best GMT watch ever made. Combined with the big date it has the most logical, practical and ergonomic operation of any GMT. It is also a great watch Mine is an earlier model with big seconds Here is a report http://quicklook.watchprosite.com/sh...ost/ti-462426/ This is my GMT big date

You could probably get a pre-owned but more recent Rolex Explorer II for that price.
If new, may I suggest Breitling Colt or SuperOcean GMT, Ball has some nice ones as well.

What I would really like is the Rolex GMTIIc, just love that watch with the ceramic bezel but its out of my price range for now That UN is gorgeous.
Lorsban: I have actually looked at the Breitling Colt and SuperOcean GMT's. I am not a big fan of the SuperOcean GMT design, but I do like the Colt GMT design. Psmith: The Fortis on the right looks sweet!! TattooedGQ: Ive tried on the SMP 300M GMT and I simply love it, I wanted to see what the fine people of TRF had to suggest. Keep them coming there are so many options!!

Tutima are an oft-overlooked company but imho also make some fine GMT's which are well within your budget.
Photo Googled: For pre-owned i would also vote Rolex GMT Master. Has anyone mentioned Hamilton and Ball yet? They make quite a few GMT models. |

Explorer II, Nomos Tangomat GMT, UN GMT are all good options, depends on what look you are going for, UN and Nomos for dressier looks. There is a need for a watch with a count down timer with nominal sound.

As above you can't go wrong with a pre owned Exp II. I've seen some good examples in your price range on the FS forum recently. You could even throw in a RSC movement service and have change from $4K.
Good hunting |
