A few watches out, a new one in

Hi friends,

I finally got my hands on what I at least consider a nice gilt 1675. I sacrificed a couple of non vintages (6 digit refs!) that were collecting dust to get it :-)

Here are a few pictures.

Oh yeah!!!

I'm thinking of doing the same thing........Either a Gilt 1675 or a 1655

Great watch, congrats

Thank you all! I was really split between this and a nice PCG chapter ring, but I ended up choosing this one, I just like the fade of tritium better than the radium dials.

GMT's now outnumber subs/dweller in my collection. They're growing on me!

Good choice Jesper. Stunning watch. Your collection is getting better n better, jealous. You should take it out in the sun. I love how gilt looks under the sun.

Not all. Mine's a '67 and in the mid 60's they're usually tritum + sodium. The sodium actually still lights up briefly when exposed to direct light.

My '61 5512 is radium dialed, though. I've read somewhere it was around mid 60's they changed to other fluorescents, but who knows for sure :-)

P.S. that's also what I really like about the 5513 Bart Simpson. They carry the same tritum mixture on the dials and the colors are usually warm and very nice with the gilt writing.

Edit: the greenish tint the mid 60s gilts show is Sulfite, not Sodium.
