Looking for leather band recommendations

I just picked up my first vintage rolex (a datejust) and it will need a leather band. I'm wondering if anyone has a good brand or seller you'd recommend?

Also, the Rolex crown buckle? Is that something that was a purchase option years ago and I should track down? Curious the groups thoughts on those as well.

Thanks!

Congrats on your vintage DJ!

I highly recommend GLC Straps: http://glcstraps.it/

They are hand made in Italy and just incredible. Looking forward to seeing some pics!

Congratulations on your new acquisition :-)
I recommend to consider John Glance (Dangerous9straps):

Cheers Gus. Yes, I saw on the PP forum. Looks great my friend. Breguet numbers and vintage looking strap!

I just ordered a brown calfskin one today from them for the Day Date I posted about over the weekend. Best.

I've bought leather ones from Crown & Buckle and Gnomon - good-quality, basic leather NATOs.

For something a little more special (££$$), I have enjoyed great straps from Wotancraft, Jürgens (Germany) and a friend of mine here in Switzerland who made me a custom strap, at chunkstraps.com Also Massimiliano in Rome, for suede NATO.

I bought a leather strap from Barry on the forum:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...hlight=leather

I love the look of these vintage leather straps. I've seen them priced at 2x what Barry charges so I think the price is very fair. The quality of the strap itself is quite nice. I have already contacted him to order a second strap in a different color.
