GMT 2 Fake pointers what to look for?
My friend spend a fair amount of money on a preowned GMT 2 black face and bezel and I believe it to be a fake?
Depending on the year of production can you see the laser etch crown above the 6 o'clock position without a led light like the 114060 sub no date? The bracelet seems a bit light, maybe because it does not have the glide lock bracelet? The dial does not look right to me seems of a unique pure but I thought it might be just old? What other points would you point out? I have mentioned this to my friend and he says it is real, but I do not to catch him a lie or embarrassing him either, because maybe he intentionally bought a fake? What do you think? |

There are very big differences between the older non ceramic GMT's and the newer GMTIIc. I have the ceramic one and every time I look at the older models, I am seriously underwhelmed, especially with the bracelet.
Your friend may have an authentic Rolex but it may just be an older model. Take a look in the for sale section for comparison pictures. |
