Trusted Seller

I am new here so please bear with me if this has been asked before. I tried searching but couldn't find the answer.

How do I find out who is a "trusted seller" on here or are they all trusted sellers if they are allowed to post watches for sale?

Thanks in advance.

Check out the "who's who" in the classifieds subforum for reviews to get an idea of who the trusted sellers are from those who bought from them.

I will personally recommend DavidSW having dealt directly with him.

Bed Frame Question

I've never built a bed before and I have a structural question.

The rails are 1 1/2" by 5 1/2" quarter sawn white oak. It's a king bed 76" by 80".

I need to attach a 3/4" by 4" horizontal piece to support the slats. The slat support will run around the bottom all 4 sides of the frame. I will attach the slat support with #6 x 80 dominos spaced every 12". There will be a mid frame rail with a "leg".

I am worried about the slat support breaking off from the rails.

Input????

Haha. What?

A trusted bed builder might be able to help with that.

There are quite a few trusted resellers on the forum
And then there are a lot of other resellers who I trust.
Buy the seller, not the watch, check out references......that opens it up to lots of choices.
Best of luck.

I think the nature of the OP's question suggests he might be better served purchasing from an AD.

I tend to agree with Doug on this.

On here a "trusted seller" means they have donated money to the running of this forum and/or donated watches to be given away.

Whether this earns them your trust is up to you.

I don't think this is an accurate statement.

The OP is one of the newest members( as many of us were at one time) here and it's asking a legitimate question.

OP, search the classifieds and the 'who's who' section.
If you're interested in a particular reference found here, post the link and I'm sure someone will help you.

Agreed. Misleading statement is more accurate.

No, this is not true at all, and is an absurd statement.

TRF does not have any such designation as "Trusted Seller" nor does TRF endorse one seller over another; all sellers must be Pledge Members to list an item on the For Sale boards to help maintain some level of integrity.

TRF provides a "Buyers/Sellers Who's Who" board so members can research any seller they choose to use.

Well that's not true at all.

Why even post if you don't know what you are talking about?

They are all "sellers", but not all can be considered trusted. Any pledge member can post an item for sale regardless of their honesty or integrity. Do a search in the who's who section for references, and also ask some of the long time members for the better well established watch dealers.

I did come across one, SDwatches, Tony. Seems ok. I am looking to sell at the moment to free up some funds for a new acquisition. He seemed fair.

To all who have responded, thank you. I have a local AD here in MD that I usually purchase from. My question was to get info for two things. One is that I am hunting for an SD43 and am 5 on the waitlist here, so I might look outside the box, and two I may want to sell one of my current watches and I know that some sellers also buy and if they are a "trusted seller" they are most likely a t"rusted buyer". Being new to this forum, I am not yet sure what topics are ok to post and which ones are frowned upon. But I know that many of you like myself love watches, and Rolexes in particular, and therefore have the best knowledge for me to draw upon.

if you're anywhere near Towson, there's a guy named Erik Szper at Radcliffe jewelry that you might want to check out. Seems to be very reputable and might be a good resource. I believe that they're a Rolex AD, but he usually has a good selection of preowned as well.

I have dealt with Eric. That store is not an AD; however, there Pikesville store is. I was told that they have a 6 month wait list on the SD43. I am sticking with my AD where I have spend quite a bit over the past year.

Thanks for the info though.
