Omega Price increase

Just spoke to my AD and Omega, Breitling are going up 01/02/09.

Some are going up by around 8.5% and others by around 11% but he said the average across the board is 10%

He also said he wouldn't be able to do anything price wise regarding a discount once the increase kicks in which is a blow. Especially as he has a watch I want at the moment and would only give me 10% which wasn't good enough. It will have to wait.

Anybody getting more than 10% from their AD's?

Si

I went from one dealer to the other in lakeside with cash and ended up getting 15% buy playing one of the other at the moment it's a buyers market haggle and play the dealers you'll get what you want. They need the money as Omegas may be selling but others are not and they need to get the money somewhere

Hi

Thanks for the info. I was going to pay the same as you did, but he wouldn't budge. I cant get one elsewhere, so I think I have to pay him or do without. Mind you I could buy it and sell it on but that dosen't appeal. I,m not a great one for flipping. I get one and keep it.

Si

Thanks for the help

Hi

He said 01 February 2009.

So if you want one get it in January. Its to do with realigning the £ with the euro, Pretty similar to what is happening with Rolex (supposedly). As to whether its worldwide he didnt know. But I cant see them not taking up the opportunity to put the price up

Sorry for the confusion

Si, a lot of Omega AD's will be having cut throat New Year Sales. Pick one up there at a fraction of the price.

Hi Peter

Thats what I was thinking but it will have to be another dealer as they have just about sold their quota at this shop and have very little to put in the sale. Unless of course he still has it.

Many thanks for your help, If I manage to get anything off him I will let you know!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

May they bring you what you wish for

Si

if happening in the states

a. boy did i pick a good time to get 30% off of a special edition

b. cant imagine them raising prices at a time like this

sounds more like something Rolex would do...where can a guy go to complain about rolex

i have some reall doozies for ya, as in what I really think about them...

for instance, reintroduction of the Milgauss? come on, that was a perfect example of just how much creativity those guys dont have...seriously

i have owned several rolex and my dream watch is a rolex, dont get me wrong...

I'm with Randy.... it sure seems like a bad time (or perhaps I should say, a dumb time) for anyone to be going on on price on anything here in the USA. Personally, I think there are going to be good deals to be had after the Christmas season is over. Folks, business is bad here in the USA! Cheers, Bill P.

They are just destroying their profits and trying to raise prices to squeeze more money out of less buyers.

they can formally price it however high they want, the bottom line is it's only worth what someone's willing to pay for it. can you say 40% discount?

Price increase does suck but at least with Omega you can get 20-25% from some AD's.
