P5000 Functions

Panerai's website isn't super descriptive and I was wondering if someone could answer a couple questions?

On the page for the PAM796, it says single barrel, it is double barrel correct?

Does the 5000 have the same hour skip function in the second position as the 3000?

Does the 5000 have the zero second reset function in the third position?

Lastly, does anyone know the thickness of the 795, 796, 797?

Thanks!

I don’t have any P5000 based watches but IIRC they don’t have seconds reset and quickset hour

Those two extras are only available on P2002 movement (even there’s basic version of P2002 without seconds reset feature)

Thanks for the answer. Seems like a missed opportunity for their new in house movement!

Think the P5000 as the in-house 8-day version of Unitas 6497. :)

That’d be an insult to unitas 6497 as P5000 have a more all-over the place kind of accuracy

I know someone who had an early 510 with fast movement (think about +20/25 spd,it wasn’t even magnetized) and have the watch regulated 2-3 times before it’s back to cosc standard

I have a P5000 564. It’s very simple to operate - pull out to first position and set time, no jumping hours or hacking etc

FWIW I have had no issues with accuracy. Either they’ve ironed out the early issues or I got lucky. Plus it runs for almost 10 days which is a bonus.
