#TheLovedSkyDweller

Bored out of my mind in quarantine, and not sure if anyone is familiar with SpanishRob on Instagram, but he wears a 5711 (tiffany?) pretty regularly and it is beat to sh*t , but I think it looks awesome.

This is my own version, not for the faint of heart, of just over 2 years of daily wear.

Will have a full polish done at the 5 year service, including new crystal (this one is cracked @ 10PM)

Nothing that a light polish won’t fix, the lugs are in good shape.
The biggie is the crystal, and even that shouldn’t be too expensive to replace.
First I didn’t find the crack but when I realized that I had been ltrying to find it at 10 A.M I took a look at 10 P.M. and there it was !

How do they refurbish the bezel or can't they? Do you have to buy a new gold bezel if you want it like new?

Yes, I've already replaced it once because the first day I got it I smashed it against a doorknob. $2200

Looks well loved! The first picture doesn’t look too bad. That is what most people will see at a distance. It is only at a close up that all the imperfections show up.

Thanks for sharing.

I think it looks great. I wear my Daytona almost every day and it has similar “character” on the bracelet, bezel, etc. I like this and some of the other recent posts that focus on members’ love for the watches they own/want rather than the watch as an investment. To each their own, but I prefer the watch geek aspect not the savvy investor vibe.

I think it’s lovely. I grew up knowing a Rolex as something that rarely left the wrist of its owner. It looks authentic and like anything but a luxury bauble. Plus- I see no way to frame your use as abuse.

It’s so compelling to see a watch like this.
Many thanks

It is very nice to see a photo of a watch that has been/is being used for its intended purpose rather than the annoying, whiny "Oh my watch is getting scratched; it must be polished immediately" nonsense that so many b***ch about.

My Sky Dweller from October 2019 is on its way to garnering its own "history" like yours.

A tip of the hat to you, my friend.

I actually really like it when watches get beat up and look "worn" (part of the reason why I prefer metal bezels on dive watches), this is probably one of my favourite Sky-Dwellers ever due to the amount of wear. Thanks for sharing!

e: scratches on the sapphire even. wowzers!

$2200 inclusive of installation? What is the cost of bezel alone?

Good man, you've been wearing your watch as it was made to be in Geneva! Personally, those scratches and dings wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Just wear it and enjoy it!

Thanks all! It's been with me to 6 countries, 20+ states, and God knows how many drunken nights waking up clutching my wrist (lucky everytime it was still there)
