Tudor BB ETA service and regulation

Hi

Have just had my Tudor BB with ETA 2824 movement serviced for the first time and had initially asked for regulation. It was 5 years old and running very consistently +6 spd but asked about regulation and was told could be changed to around +1 easily. Just got it back from service, as was told oil's had dried out etc. with low amplitude and so on and after 1 day is running -16 spd. Am I being unreasonable or impatient or is something really wrong? I did fully wind the watch before I set it initially.

Was told that regulation would mean that it could be changed to a rate per day on the machine but that real life use on the wrist would be different. I can understand this but surely regulation should be able to produce a reasonable rate regardless, otherwise would there be any point?

Would like to hear what other more knowledgeable people than me think please.

Thanks

Take it back. That's unsatisfactory.

Take it back. That ETA 2824 movement is one of the most widely used and reliable on the market. (Tudor modifies it to a very high standard). I have one, similar vintage, that runs +2. Good luck.

Thanks

I know that watches are supposed to be serviced after 5 years or so and that's fine but guess it must have been in a decent state to be consistent in its timekeeping. I was told movement was stripped down, cleaned and lubricated, with nothing replaced. Guess I should have taken to RSC?

Will see how it goes until next week as won't have chance to go back for a few days anyway

Serviced by whom? Should be serviced by RSC if you do not want to loose warranty, if it was still under warranty.

It was serviced by a local watchmaker, as outside warranty, purchased in 2014

Had the watch regulated again and ran well, around +1 spd for 3 or 4 days but then started to slow down. If I fully wind the watch using the crown it runs fairly accurately for a day but then loses time overnight and then continues to lose time.

Have put the watch on a timegrapher and even when fully wound its struggling to exceed 200 degrees amplitude. I would have thought a service should have prevented or fixed any issues that would cause low amplitude, such as dirt, damaged or worn springs, poor lubrication?

Looks like I will be going back to the watchmaker!

Hi, did you get it fixed? I have BB ETA too and have been thinking about service as it is now about 6 years old and has been my daily for 2+ years. I was going to use independent servise and save a bit, but maybe I'll just bite the bullet and go RSC...
