Mk1 1675 w/relumed hands. Opinion
Hi guys,
Bought this beautiful mk1 1675. Colors are amazing, however the hands are relumed, they glow. I knew this, but fell in love with the looks of it. Wanted to know if in this particular watch this might affect its value. Thanks a lot! |

Great looking watch and that fat font insert is beautiful. Whoever did the relume did a great job making it look period correct IMHO. Of course I don't know much about the various Mark whatever dials and if it is correct for the year of production.

Good looking watch, i dun mind relumed hands on 1675 matte as long as its period correct.

Thank you all,
Indeed looks nice but should I turn it more "period correct"? And get tritium hands that don't glow or leave it as it is? |

If your intention is to keep it and use it, I'd leave it as is. It's more useful with the lume, even if it isn't correct.

"To lume or not to lume", that is the question. The purists among us would say "No, No and thrice No", but if its period -as this appears to be- then I see no harm whatsoever. We buy these 'tool' watches for their 'use', yes we all love an original vintage but if its dark the comforting warming glow from your Sub/DJ/ or whatever is what the watch was designed with. Id go for it every time, and have done !
Show us a lume shot. |

What you guys think this lume is? Tritium? Luminova?
Because when you look at it in daylight it looks like "yellow old lume" matching the dial. I believe luminova is white in daylight. (Not sure btw) |

My guess is some modern luminova aged with a faux patina?

i guess would be luminova as well, but I prefer to relume with non-glow material.

Thank you. Did now know luminova could look like old lume in broad daylight like in this case.

Wouldn't impact the value more than the price to find some tritium/matching hands. So not much.
I actually don't mind this and coupled with the updated bracelet, kinda best of both worlds... |
