Grabbed this one today
Grabbed this one today. I tried the earlier version a few days ago and found the differences small but noticeable.
In the end I think it is a worthy evolution of a great watch and I'm really happy with this purchase! |

Congratulations, it looks great on you. Do you mind sharing what differences you noticed? Honestly it looks 99% the same in pictures unless I know what to look for like the hands.

I think thats it brother. Hands and slimmer case profile. I have a 216570, love it, and have stared at the 226570. Thats all I see. But maybe the OP sees more.

- The most obvious is the floating hands of the previous version vs the fully polished on the new. The difference is noticeable on all 3 hands, but even more on the orange hand; - The new seems to have a darker, maybe glossier, dial. It could be due to the ar coating (which I believe the previous model didn't have), but to me it was very noticeable and to my liking; - Slightly thinner lugs and slightly wider bracelet on the new one, which is to my preference. The newer seemed (to my eyes) closer to the pre-maxi cases Rolexes, which I always preferred. I could be wrong, but this slight difference seemed to make the new version a bit more comfortable. I feel a similar difference bet. the new explorer 36mm and a current datejust 36mm, where both also have the same 1mm difference in lugs. I own both, so it is easier to test these 2 side by side, although the datejust case also wears a bit bigger than the explorer 36mm; - The new one has a coronet between the "swiss made". I think this represents the differences in lume material ("swiss made" watches have older chromalight version); - I read somewhere there is also a difference on the crown guards, but I couldn't notice from the few days apart and also can't see it in the pics. And of course, there's the updated mechanism, but this is not something you can "see". Anyway, like I mentioned, small differences. I probably should have add "barely" before "noticeable". But I think it is a worthy "Rolex style" upgrade. Why mess with something almost perfect? Here a pic of each: |

I’m waiting on the Polar , but the black dial Exp iI with the WG hands looks so much cooler than the so-called phantom hands . The new black Exp. iI is a great looking piece . Congratulations

Nice grab!! I love mine, had it a month now. Cleanest, most legible dial that I own. Getting more wrist time than my 114060!

Didn’t realize that the 24 hr hand is solid orange now. Nice. Still love my 216570.
Congrats again. Great watch.

the changes are so minor, but they make a world of difference.
I turned down another Ex2 last year because i wasn't interested, but with these new sexy lugs, wider bracelet sizing, new movement and crystal clear sapphire, I am all in. I kind of like the black better than the white... congrates OP |
