Hi guys,

Which one would you pick? One gorgeous TT Daytona in any dial of your choice or a couple of SS Rollies...like say an Exp-II and a Sub-Date?

The two SS Rollies summed up together would still work out cheaper than the TT Daytona.

This may look like a no-brainer at first glance, but do give it a careful thought before replying.

I'd do two SS: A SS Daytona and a Green Sub.

A TT Daytona with the Paul Newman style dial (black or gold dial with contrasting subdials) would be nice though, as would the yellow/gold MOP.

Exactly what Sam said!! JJ, that is not even a comparison dude! You have the TT bling in your collection already. For what you would pay for the TT daytona, get the Exp II and 16610 and have money left over to buy Zemina a movie ticket and small bag of popcorn.

JJ.. given i dont really like the TT daytona (prefer the omega speedy moonwatch) i would definately go for 2 ss models.. probably a white dial with candlestick markers datejust adn explorer 1. In your case however you have already owned most of the ss models and you have sold them which says something to me.. maybe in your case get the TT daytona?

I gotta go along with everyone else. I would not want a TT Daytona. The only TT's I like are the DJs (maybe that's because or why I have 2). Now if the offer was for a meteorite Daytona. There would be no other choice.

I had to think about this... for about 1/3rd of a second as I clicked the "2 ss rollies" button. And that 1/3rd of a second was more than I would have if my finger had been faster

BTW, I would take 2 SS "rollies" over 1 SS Daytona as well. Or over *any* other Rolex except: A platinum or rose-gold Day Date. Then, once again: No thought involved.

Are you missing your sub and SD? I am the lone voter for the TT Daytona choice. Being aware of your long term plan for the TT Daytona, I just think you'd be disappointed in the long run if you "don't scratch that itch" and buy the Daytona. I also have owned two TT Daytonas (at different times) and know them to be fine watches that are mechanically and structurally of the highest quality. I wear my steel dialed TT Daytona far more than my black SS Daytona. It looks better and feels better IMO.

Actually I have had this option, almost. The only difference was they would discount the TT Daytona. I turned it down and am not sorry at all. I wear the SS GMT II almost daily since I received it and if the prices were the same would not trade it straight away for a SS Daytona. The GMT II is functional for me, the Daytona is not. I also rotate with my YM and save the TT Sub for more formal occasions. However, I could live with a SS sub w/o problem. Unfortunately the SD is too thick for me and I do not care for the extra weight. It frowns at me on my wrist.

Very simple....

1 used TT Daytona = $5,6000

2 used S/S Sports (GMT/SUB) = $7,000

TT Daytona's depreciate almost half of MSRP. S/S only depreciates about 1/3 of MSRP.

Thanks, guys...I think the 2 SS Rollies would be a better option. I already have a gorgeous TT watch (my YM) which I'm very proud of and can ever stop admiring when it's on my wrist.

I definitely want an Exp-II (black dial) next!!

That would be me. I guess I'm just tired of stainless steel watches. And I do so love my TT Daytona. I just back from a long jog with it and the heaviness of the watch and the solid bracelet were great to feel as I ran in this late summer heat in Japan. And the glow of the watch in the sunlight was a pleasure, too. No matter what I buy, I keep coming back to the Daytonas. I can remember the day and date without a watch! R/Otto

I quite agree with you, Otto, but the TT Daytona is very pricey and doesn't have a date....a feature I need in my day to day work. Also, the rhodium dial which I like is difficult to read time with the amount of camouflaging that takes place. I don't know....let's wait and see until 2007.

Meanwhile, I have my eyes set on the black Exp-II. Love the brushed, fixed bezel (never use my bezels, anyway) and the superb contrast it makes with the black dial.
