Hey guys...I need a small favour from...

...those of you own a TT BLUE SUB!!

What I'd really like you to do is wear the TT Blue Sub and then visit your nearest AD. I would then like you to compare the blue of your Sub with that of a BRAND NEW TT BLUE SUB at the AD's. You will have to ask him to pull it out of the display cabinet and compare both pieces side by side.

I know this won't be possible for all you TT Blue Sub owners as some of you may not have any AD within even driving vicinity. But to those who can, would you oblige me please?

If you are successful, would you please let me know the outcome (with pics, if possible....now I know I'm asking for the bloody moon!!)

Thanks in advance, guys - JJ

PS: All I'm trying to establish is how much of a difference there is in the HUE of the BLUE between the older TT Blue Sub and the new ones which have just been released.

For all of the money you've spent there, they should do it for you without question. Of course, by you not doing it, just goes to show us that you're not suave enough.

I've already done that. I can't tell any difference in the blue of mine and the blue of the new one.

Wouldn't it just be easier to ask someone to run out of the AD with the new Sub and mail it off to you for an extended trial run with the watch?

And what if there is a difference? What are you going to do? Kick yourself harder for flipping the first one; or lord it over those with older TT Blue subs for not having the deepest blue face on the planet.

If you want a different TT colour blue dial JJ get a E series from 89-90, now some of those dials turned like a nice shade of purple blue.

I would do it, but my blue Sub is only a few weeks old, so it would not help. But give us a heads up on what you will be flipping your blue sub on a few months after you get it, and maybe we can check that watch out.

The one I just got my dad is a D-series (that's the latest one, right?). So, it won't be any different than the store. Sorry, JJ.

Was in the AD yesterday. No difference between my Y SN blue sub and the one in the case. Both the same.

Thanks, Mark. Did you actually place them side by side or just view the new one through the glass window?

I still think Rolex has changed the hue of the blue....it now appears deeper and richer!!

Ive given up my rolex addictions.
Tuition and books hit me several thousand more than i anticipated, and dental school just raised prices so im screwed :)
Therefore, my next acquisition will be the shiny carbon fibre dial Tissot Ttouch
A poor mans... anything really ;)
But hey, I cant wear a rolex to university every day :)
Gotta lower end it up sometimes.

JJ, I just looked at it through the glass. But they both looked the same.

They look great in the AD with all the bright lights making them sparkle.

Don't forget the display case lights will fade the dial quickly JJ..

I saw the TT Sub at my AD last week and it does look great. If I didn't dislike gold so much I might have considered one.

My new watches hardly ever get a chance to get in under the spotlights. I grab them straight out of the AD's vault!!

... does displaying the watch generally cause the color to fade?

That's a question that's been asked before, Johnny...and the answer is No. Most ADs do keep circulating their watches and avoid placing them in direct sunlight.

Display windows are tinted to a certain extent to avoid direct UV rays. Overhead lights can't possibly cause any harm to the dials and dealers also make it a habit to keep the watches in constant circulation and position changes in their cabinets.
