gmt - master , circa 2000
hi guys, lately my watch stops within a few hours of taking it off my wrist. also, when i do wind it manually it seems like its not winding smoothly , sort of rough. any suggestions? i will bring it in to be looked after but i would like some advise from the experts so i'm not walkiing in to the dealer blind. the watch was also serviced a couple of years ago. thanx for your time .

Sounds to me quite unusual, but you need to take it in to get it professionally repaired as that is definitely not proper operation.

When you wind it, does it continue to run for at least 40 hours ?
Many times, people are just not active enough...... over time, the watch will continue to lose it's power reserve until it only has the power that you put into it during the time you wear it........ and that may only be a few hours.. The fix for this is to wind it once every couple of weeks, or use a winder when not in use.. there is just too many things that "might" be the problem and if it is not a simple problem like this, then as Steve says, it's time to have a professional take a look at it..
