Where does the RO fit in your collection?
I'm obviously very excited about the incoming 15300 that should arrive tomorrow, and I'm also interested to see where it will live in my collection.
Having said that, I now have a few questions for you all! Do you wear your RO more than Rolex or other brands? Is it an everyday watch for you like a Sub, or is it more of a special occasion watch like a DD40? Has AP diminished the Rolex light a bit for you? Give me your thoughts!

RO Chrono M-Thurs
YG Daytona on OF Friday and sometimes Saturday Speedmaster or Pepsi Sunday (usually doing stuff with kids) RO gets most wrist time but I also work from home. AP is definitely leagues above Rolex in finish but the Rolexes have their place. They’re durable and I don’t feel as worried about scratching them like I do with the AP. |

It’s one that I wear maybe once or twice a week. The finishing on it is so nice so it feels a little more like jewelry than the Rolexes that I don’t care as much if I hit a door or whatever it may be. I definitely should wear it more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Congrats and welcome to the club.
I daily my APs and hence every day is a ''special'' one, haven't worn my Rolexes for months. I made a specific thread about that not long ago: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=896231 No change in my sentiment since then. |

Usually where mine to work.
It's a pleasure and a bit more like jewelry but I'm definitely more aware. When I switch to Rolex or Tudor, it feels like I'm going from a S-Class to a Honda. It sure gets you from a to b, is more reliable and sturdy and a lot less to maintain and more sensible all around. But it lacks styling, refinement and class in comparison and just doesn't feel as special |

Where does the RO fit in your collection?
I wouldn’t say I wear my RO more than any Rolex, but that’s mainly because I feel so comfortable about Rolex being able to take anything I throw at it and with three kids from 7 months to 5 YO there’s a lot being thrown.
But, I do wear it often. For me it does both - Everyday and special occasions. RO’s are pretty special and, to me at least, more luxurious than Rolex. But, Rolex is Rolex. Anyway, here are my main 4. The SS RO holds its own just fine against these PM Rolex. (Sorry about the dust ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My APRO 15400 used to be my daily watch for several years but I only wear it for special occasions now. Most of the time I'm either wearing a Speedmaster or Cartier Tank Americaine

Apex predator for me.
I daily mine with full insurance coverage. (And Daytona for evening wear) There’s just more details to look at to keep me engaged. Takes nothing away from Rolex. Also FWIW, the proportions of a DD40 never looked right to me. 36 looked better as a watch, but too small for me. So I’ve never worn a DD in the rotation. Personally choice there. |

It is definitely a daily wear watch. In the summer, you may find it even more wearable with a rubber strap and plots.

it's my daily but i work in an office. it does casual and special very well but given how flashy it is i'd say it's similar to a day date vs something like a sub

I have many brands and wear all of them in rotation.

It hasn't really changed anything. I tend to wear something for a couple of days and then look at the watch box and choose something else depending on my mood. Given that, I probably don't wear it as much as I should, but I like everything I have. I wear my Code more.

I never wear my AP, it's sandwiched between a Sea Dweller and a Nautilus, so it's not enough of one or the other. The SD 16600 can go anywhere and do anything and my 5711 works perfectly for anything, even hiking in the mountains if it's under a sleeve. I don't baby the 5711, but I don't beat it, either. My AP suffers from middle watch syndrome.

I think any sports Rolex is a much better everyday watch especially the vintage models as they are not too flashy. I can wear a no date sub anywhere. Higher end watches like the APRO tend to be babied a bit more.

I'm wearing my RO less but for more important occasions. I like the idea of RO as my special/sentimental occasion time piece.

My black-dial 15300 is part of my standard rotation set, so gets worn with anything, casual or smart. The only stuff it doesn’t get worn for is golf or gardening/DIY, those activities are Rolex only. The same is true of my 15710.
My 15450 is a little different as it’s smaller and has the silver dial so is reserved for smart use only. I’m also a little more specific with my 26480 as it only really works with certain outfits, and tends to be more of a summer fun watch. Enjoy the 15300, it’s a super watch and whilst not as stunning as the Jumbo, it’s more versatile which is what swayed me, so enjoy that versatility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mine is a vivid colored offshore, so very different story than the others here I guess. I must admit, as robust as it is, for me it’s something I wear on an occasional basis only. I suspect a more traditional RO would be the same though. Can very much relate to the « middle watch syndrome » comment above. Day to day out and about, steel Rolex is where 11 years of collecting and wearing these watches has landed me. Day to day at work or dinner, I’ll be more inclined to wear something like a Lange or dressier Patek. But I’m someone who really likes wearing round watches with classic designs on leather straps, rather than sportier designs on metal bracelets, the latter are a practical utility due to their resilience, rather than a true preference for me, so others no doubt will have different views.

Steel RO, daily M-F main watch, business, casual, everything. No rugged activities, got a tudor and panerai for that.
