15550ST 37mm RO

Hi all,

Just been offered the 37mm RO (grey) as my first AP. Just wondering if there any owners here and any reviews of ownership and what you wish you'd known before buying it!

Thanks

Awesome first AP it’d make!

I’m waiting for a 15510 silver/white dial myself so not in a position to answer your questions. Be sure to share some incoming photos.

what's your wrist size? 37 is quite small and my wife wears it on her 5.5" wrist.

If your wrist is 6.5" or larger then I would personally pass and wait for a 41 RO

Wrist size is just over 6inch.

It felt like a good size when I tried it. Don’t think I could pull off the 41- it would be way too big.

37 looks like right size given your wrist size and the photo. I’d take it. Congrats

agree, 41 is too big on 6" wrist. 39 would be perfect for you. But given the options you should pick up the 37 and enjoy it

At around the 6.5 area, I'd say 37 and 41 are a matter of preference

If it's a slate dial though, I'd lean towards the 37 since it'll appear larger from farther away

Obviously a unisex watch, like pretty much any

Congrats, the 37mm size looks great on you! May I ask if this was your first piece from AP?

37mm is a fantastic size for man, I don’t know why some folks keep saying if you got a bigger wrist you should consider 41mm - I mean it all comes down to preference and there is no “must”. The vintage RO featuring 36mm during past era was not considered small to men wasn’t it.

The RO by its design wears larger than its said dimension so I think 37mm is just perfect but I don’t deny 41mm also appeals to almost of gentlemen.

So go for it if you had a chance.

Congrats, I was looking at the same piece since I have a similar wrist size as you. I also think the grey dial looks stunning and fits well with everything.

Exactly. 37mm is unisex IMO yet AP told people it was women only.

Excact.

It's strange to me, perhaps I should change gender (can do it from an admin point of view in Switzerland with no questions asked) and try my luck.

I have a 7" wrist and declined the 41 when it was offered but took the 37 with blue dial. The 39 is probably the perfect size but 41 was just too large for my taste.

7" wrist can easily pull off 41 RO but like you stated it all comes down to personal taste. IMO you have to go with what works for you personally

Amazing! I’m headed to the AP boutique in Orange County on Saturday to try on this very piece.

Having owned several 41mm APs although it all comes down to personal preference for me any wrist below 7 inch is not suitable for the 41. It fits but wears like an offshore. It’s meant to be classy and elegant.

Agreed, it’s also very thick.

Or your wrist is too thin.
The 15510 is thinner than the Submariner and no one is complaining that’s too thick.

But we know you dislike AP so..

For my taste, the 41bracelet flares out too much and the references with light color dial have too much white space on the dial which makes them look larger. On the submariner, the black dial makes it looks smaller and the bracelet does not flare out as much.

For thickness, I think for an elegant style sports watch like a RO or Nautilius, thinness is expected,But for a tool watch, people may tolerate a thicker dimension, of course it is all personal taste. I have declined a 5726 and 5990 offer as I believe in thin elegant Nautilius.
