Any differences between the 2016 and 2023 C Daytonas?

As the question states, curious if there’s any differences between the 2016 and 2023 116500ln Daytonas? While I don’t intend the watch to be an investment (I know folks here hate that word), but after 50 years, people likely might want the first year or last year of production of this legendary, asymmetric lug reference. From that perspective, wanted to know if there’s differences in the actual watch design (even if very minor)

No. They are identical in every way each year. The 4130 has also been out awhile by 2016 so it too was proven and a masterpiece by the 2016 release.

Since the Daytona was first launched with the cal 4130 way back in 2000 the only changes are purely cosmetic like say ceramic bezel and minor bracelet and slight dial difference.

This is all correct in principle but there is an interesting article from Hodinkee (https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/inside-rolex) claiming that Rolex regularly updated the 4130 without any further communication to the customers. Hodinkee’s sources of information seem to be trustworthy and I think this could be true. Would make a lot of sense to me as well since during 20 years of production there should be at least some kind of evolution.

It seems to be up for debate, but AR coating supposedly didn’t appear on the 116500 until sometime in 2018.
