Trading into pepsi. Tired of waiting
Purchased a TT Wimbledon fluted on jubilee last December. This was not a spend history buy per se cause I love how this watch looks, wears and it’s just a gorgeous piece. I work with 2 ADs both are saying not many Rolex and pretty much no Pepsis are flowing in. I told myself I’m not going Grey and paying over retail unless at very reasonable price or discontinued.
Caveat to this Wimbledon is it’s a showy piece. I find it hard to wear and often put it on, think about wear I’m going, and opt for a more casual piece like my sub or explorer. I’ve got some great photos over the past year with my son and I’m wearing the watch. Outside of that, I somewhat force myself to wear it cause i spent 15k on it and for me, that’s a decent amount for a watch I sometimes don’t opt to wear. I’m sure there are others that have managed this dilema. How did it shake out for you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not a bad move IMO. I struggle with forcing myself to wear watches. The Pepsi makes sense from a practicality standpoint

May want to look into selling the Wimbledon yourself. Will take a bath in a grey dealer trade.
Otherwise, I support this trade. A TT Wimbledon is great in a deep collection but I would want a really good daily first. The Pepsi fits the bill for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wow, what a great line up! Really beautiful, congrats. I think your TT jubilee is a great fit but if you want to change it up that's your prerogative. Just keep in mind the BLRO is pretty flashy as well!

Pepsi still holding strong around $20K and there is a lot of chatter it will be discontinued next year. If that does happen, they will shoot up.

As said above, if you trade that watch for a Pepsi you will take a serious hit on it. A private sale is the way to go and if you can find a local buyer, even better.

I finally decided to buy the Pepsi a couple of weeks ago and after wearing it daily, it is my favorite Rolex by a mile. I could easily sell off quite a few watches and not really miss them. It just feels so much more special than most of my other pieces...I highly recommend it!

Your DJ combo is easily the nicest watch in your collection imho
I don’t understand your feelings about wearing it. Sounds a bit strange. If you don’t like it get rid of it and buy something mainstream like a GMT. Dime a dozen

I did a trade up last year a steel DJ and 16700 for an almost new BLRO. Not a slight bit of regret. Do it.

Do it.
You can always buy another Wimbledon in ten years if you miss it. |

I would trade into a BLRO 100%. I did the same in February of this year. I traded out of my 116520 towards a BLRO on jubilee. That combo just pops !

For sure not a stealth piece! Saw someone wearing a pepsi some weeks back and that baby shines. This TT Wimbledon though….. it catches light so well and sparkles all over the place. Deeding on lighting the gold can appear brown or a blush pink. I do admire that but it’s a lot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Keep the Wimbledon, and wear it! It’s a great piece. I tried the same one on, in 36, the other day. Sweet watch! Maybe ditch the one on the far right, instead? Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Wimbledon is the epitome of a spend history piece.
I have a personal friend who has flipped 3 of them in the last year from different ADs. If you like the Pepsi, make it happen. I recommend getting it on your wrist before pulling the trigger.

Never heard of the terms "spend history piece" or "spend history buy." Interesting Rolex lexicon to be sure.

No reason to keep something you really don’t care for. Consider the case size, DD is 41 and BLRO is 40. I wish the GMT were larger, even the black Sub at 41mm feels small, likely due to black dial. Best to you!

I love the TT DJ but I would prefer it in 36mm over 41mm. DJ with fluted bezel and jubilee wears larger than its stated size.

Sure! I traded my turquoise OP41 for a Pepsi. If you're going to wear it more then by all means don't worry about the noise.
