4 months- EXPII is not that “maxi”

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Just wanted to give you my experience after having the 226570 newest EXPII.
I heard a lot of people saying how “maxi” everything is about it and honestly, it really isn't… In my opinion.

I have a 14060m, 16660, 124270 and had on GMTs, ceramic subs many times. The EXPII is not maxi for a 42mm IMO. If anything, it is perfectly proportioned for its dial and case.

I actually find it relatively compact with its thin case and sloping bezel. Looking back at pictures of the 16570 I think that the new variant is more proportional and balanced and I absolutely love it after 4 months!

My wrist is 6.8 inch flat

Definitely agree on the proportion and balance over its predecessor however the white definitely reads large to the eye. Even though it’s just an optical illusion the black reads smaller.

Looks spot on to me - love them! I’ve had mine 12 months and lost count of the number of subs I’ve seen in that time but haven’t seen another Exp II.

Beautiful watch. Love the ‘can’t miss the time’ legibility. Perfect for daily life IMO, even better if you like to travel.

But it’s not really a ‘maxi’ case as I understand it, because that term was applied to the blockish lugs look of the ceramic GMTs and Subs (which Rolex supposedly addressed with newer models but they pretty much look the same to my eye). I get why the dial may be ‘maxi’ because of the big lume plots, but i agree even at 42 the proportions case to lug look good. Too big for me mind, but doesn’t mean I don’t admire it.

Fantastic watch...personally I wish it came in at 40mm. It definitely looks big most of the time on my slightly over 7 in flat wrist. I also would appreciate it being a little lighter for when I actually use it hiking, snowboarding and for other forms of outside exploration. All in all, one of the best sports models IMO

Enjoy a Great watch . A lot of people on this forum get their frilly underthings in a bind when it comes to a Rolex over 40 to 41 mm .

No kidding. Annoying little twerps. They are real haters. Driven to post their displeasure on every 42-44mm post, like they are compensating for something.

Completely agree on the amazingness of the proportionality of this watch. It is, however, Maxi to me because the plots and the loom on the white dial are Thermo nuclear, amazing night, great visibility in the day.

My first Rolex (the 21 series) and still one of my favourites. There's nothing else like it.

Congratulations.
