Icon5 6426 with applied logo?

Hey all, I've recently come across a 6426 from 1959 for sale, but it has a somewhat unique "ROLEX" logo, it appears to be applied rather than printed, and not in the typical font. Doing some searching I found one other reference from the same year with this logo. There's something about it that's really off the beaten path, I find it really intriguing and cool. I'm not very familiar with this era of Rolex, anyone have any information on this? Thanks!

rolexes with its various iterations and varieties. Paul may be better positioned to give you some insight so hopefully he chimes in.

This looks good to me FWIW. looks like pre-1960's version.

here's one that has the [embossed] logo too

Looks ok from what I can see, although I think it may be embossed, not applied, which always feels a bit cheap to me.

That would be a correct dial for late 1950s. It is applied, just like the hour markers and the coronet. 1959 is at the tail end of the applied name era.

All good. Nice classic early dial/handset combo imho.

Raised schnitzel logos quite common back then on 32/34mm Pieces.

Ps service crown I think, but no bad thing.

I may be wrong, I have only handled one of these on one occasion and they aren't really in my wheelhouse. But blowing up the photo, the hour markers and coronet also look embossed. The sides look white and there seems to be paint loss on top in places. High magnification photos would tell for sure.

Again, not a concern, just for curiosity's sake.

Here’s a zoom on the logo, crown, and marker, maybe all embossed? Appreciate all the replies!

That's a handsome watch. I wish Rolex had made a 36mm version.
