Some Quartz Love?

Okay, we are all fans of mechanical watches, and on various watch boards I've heard people say that quartz watches "do not have a soul" or some such thing. I've opened a few quartz watches in my time, and most are pretty ugly inside.....like this in my old Longines model 1000:

But I recently had to replace the battery (shudder ) on my wife's Cartier.....and when I opened it up, I was very pleased to see that some time had been spent on this movement. It's Cal. 690 in her Must de Cartier 21 model that she bought when I bought my YM. This watch retailed for $2,200 Cdn. at that time - I could not convince her to get a mechanical .

So, although they can be ugly, there are some quartz movements out there that have had some care taken in their finishing.
