Speaking for myself, it’s not a matter of “femininity”, I just don’t need to carry around a bunch of stuff on my person. When my son was an infant, I did wear a backpack. Not because it was more “masculine,” but because it kept my hands free to carry him.

I just use my work messenger bag or small sling backpack. And remove, and add as I need what I need.

Small mens bags are nice, but as my friend learned in Italy, it essentially tells thieves you've got important valuable stuff and good taste.

I had a Diesel shoulder bag just large enough for an Ipad that I used only on flights. Last year I bought a Samsonite backpack with a similar size but some expandable pockets. Still used mostly for flight use but can handle a little overflow if I accumulate some stuff on a trip.

Do you use a Men's Purse?

I don’t need one for work. I just carry an IPad for workflow organization. Breast pocket has my phone and pen. Card holder and keys in my back pocket. Have additional pockets in my coat but I keep it empty.

I did use a satchel in college. Inspired by my childhood hero.

I had a nice leather satchel, perfectly worn. My dog liked it better.

I guess I'm Old School and not enlightened because I not only don't use a man purse I don't wear a man bun either.

So no matter how enlightened you become I"ll just stay old school and revel in the differences between the sexes rather than trying to imitate them.

But your shoe collection makes my wife’s look minimalist!

Oh, no doubt.

In fact my favorite saying is that my shoe closet would make most women jealous.

My saving grace is that of all those shoes there are no high heels.

But then again so would a container I own and it's contents would make most men feel the same.

And now because of the new era of awakening there are very few differences. I don't wish by any means to return to cave man days but sure do long for the days when there were just the sliver of difference.

I guess that's why once you get to a certain age you can no longer relate. I for one am glad I will never relate to some of these things.

That's hilarious.

Sad but true. Some people are like that. My dad was as well.

They try to project masculinity but are very insecure at times about it as well.

I remember saying once as a kid, (I played hockey and baseball) that I thought I might like to try tennis. And he said "it's kind of a pansy sport, isn't it?"

Like I said, we are a funny species.

Imagine if we REALLY didn't care what other people think.

I find it hilarious all the post saying no because I'm a man. I think I've had 2 females comment on any of my watches in the last 4 years.

I've had this Louis Vuitton messenger bag for about 4 years and I have females all the time come up to me and tell me how much they love my bag.

I travel everywhere with this bag and am pretty rough on it yet it still looks brand new.

Women don’t care about watches, but they love their purses.

Calling it a messenger bag doesn't necessarily make it any better

If I can't carry what I need in the pockets of the clothes I'm wearing, it stays home.

You might think your messenger bag is manly, but let us here be the judge of that! Your picture didn’t post, (looks like your html tag was left open).

Not that I am going to judge it, of course : )

I had a messenger bag and it lasted about 6 months to a year, then I was told to stop, probably 10-15yrs ago.

I use messenger bags when I need to carry stuff around, daily when I walk to and from the office for instance. I have a few and I have noticed that the less "manly" the bag is, the more attention and compliments you will get from female strangers of all ages. It is flattering and I do not mind it at all.

Funny you say that about women complimenting men not fitting the mold. I have a couple of pink or coral Tommy Bahama golf type shirts and women compliment them all the time saying, "its nice to see men who aren't afraid to wear pink". Personally I never thought that much about it.

So men act macho to try to attract women and women don't find macho all that attractive.

Hilarious.

I read a survey done once about men and women on first dates and what they each thought the other one was attracted to and it turned out what both sexes thought about themselves and how to act, was the opposite of what was attractive to the other. So I guess, thank god for hormones or we would have died out from lack of interest years ago.

Sounds like you interpret the compliments as romantic interest, lol.
