Your watch rotation (this past week)

I didn’t buy it (yet). Still thinking about it. And hope it’s still available. Do you have one? Do you like it? And what do you mean sold out “again”? Isn’t it a limited number produced?

That is my wrist buddy... yes I have one. This is mine lol. I think it punches way above its weight with the bracelet. I think it could have easily been a $7-10k watch and they should have sold this under the grand seiko brand. They didn’t need hodinkee for this... I kind of implied this at the lunch with hodinkee this week lol.. I wasn’t trying to be rude.(sorry Cara) I think this watch is better than almost every rolex out...as sturdy and well made. One of seiko’s work horse movements. A true tool watch that’s good looking and enjoyable. Every WIS should have one. It is effectively seiko’s explorer The blue dial is a matte sunburst just beautiful. Highly recommend. Edit: sold out again. It’s a LE with Hodinkee and seiko. They sold out the first batch. This 2nd batch was open for purchase this past week. Sold out less than a day again MadSpaniard got one |

@nyc2la: the Seiko Alpinist SPB089 (blue) is really fantastic. Really happy with the purchase. Exudes way more than the price, one of my better all-time purchases.
Grab one if you can. Tip: sign up on the seikousa product page to be notified when available. I did that months ago, and as soon as the email appeared I grabbed one...although I'm not sure if more units will be made available there... I think you will be pleasantly surprised by it. Best of luck, hope you get one. And yes, that is the one: |

Some people say "I check out 1 watch from my bank vault a week" and I am like "hell no!" Glad to see everyone is enjoying a few watches and perhaps even multiple a day!!!! |

Mostly an Omega FOIS Speedy. The 5066 was worn on Monday, but then the date failed to jump at midnight, and changed instead at 6AM, and it got tossed into the drawer in frustration.
Nothing else got a look in really for some reason. Probably couldn't be arsed. |

@nyc2la: contrats on your new Alpinist Blue! How do you like it so far?
I've tried different straps, as @Fat_ninja mentioned earlier I have the Strapcode super oyster but unfortunately it's pinching my wrist hairs (small wrist might be part of the problem, so might have to return). Also tried some inexpensive Barton Elite Silicone ones (e.g. black, navy) which work really well and are super comfortable. I think Alpinist Blue looks and wears great all the way around. Hope you enjoy your new watch. |
