There used to be a bar on one of the corners across the street called The Elbo Room. A gril named Tori Lane worked there. Google her and you'll see what I mean

Arthur Bryant's! LOVE that place! I should come to KC for a GTG with everyone here. My family is originally from there (left in the 1920's) had a big house on Troost and another on Quality Hill. Only ones left in KC are in Elmwood Cemetery!

Interesting. I always found smaller-size cities like Adelaide and Perth much more pleasant to live in than large ones like Sydney and Melbourne. Cheaper, less congested, less traffic, less crime, people usually more pleasant. Only good thing about large cities are more employment opportunities.

Saying that, Melbourne does look nice in your pics Kai.

I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful pictures on this thread. As a Philadelphian, I thought about taking my camera to the streets to capture a typical day here replete with muggings (or worse), but it's too cold to be outside and I was afraid of the camera being ripped off. Nonetheless, my contribution to this thread comes to you in the form of lyrics from two Philadelphians . . .

From "Fall in Philadelphia" a song by Daryll Hall and John Oates

A roving band of youths beat up on Johnny
Everyone's getting richer selling that dope
Say, the stolen bikes are gathering by the thousands
Along with seven million people without a hope

I guess I have to face the fact as real
I think I feel my back up against the wall
I'm gonna spend another fall in Philadelphia.

I don't think the Philadelphia Tourism Board will be seeking me out to do their marketing . . .
