Hoax email?
Hi all,
I've just received an email with "fraesrhart" in the email address to confirm I'm able to buy a Submariner Date. Given the typo in the email address, I assume this is a hoax, but does anyone know differently? They have my name, and the fact that I contacted them about a SD - so if it is a hoax it looks like their systems have been hacked? |

Their phone line isn’t open on weekends and the chat weren’t able to help. I emailed and they came back to say they’ve been made aware of it and are looking at it, so seems like it is a phishing email. They had my contact details, so looks like someone who works for them is scamming people or they’ve been hacked.

Really your first post to ask a question you could simply call to confirm? Seems a bit strange as well on both ends

I’ve just said above their phone line isn’t open - what do you want me to do? I went on their online chat to see if they could help and they couldn’t, they said to email. Which I did. I wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue, and potentially warn others of the same issue - what’s the problem?

Why you even asking here...most people would jump to the chance of buying any SS Rolex!
I’d be in the car already making my way there but if you want to avoid a potentially wasted journey then as suggested...simply call them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The only address on the email was their head office in Glasgow.. It didn’t even mention which store I was meant to pick up from (I had contacted a few).

I did read your post of course. Simply give them a call. You’re asking a global forum if anyone had received email from your local AD when you can just call and ask. Good luck in acquiring

One of the largest ADs in London, which therefore could impact a number of people on this forum/stop them potentially falling for a scam which could cost them £££s. Get that you feel this could have been handled a different way, but the passive aggressive tone when I’m trying to ask for views and help others seems a bit unnecessary.

I’ve said multiple times I couldn’t call them. I took the time to chat to them and email them. I’ve only said that there is a possibility of an issue such as being hacked because they have emailed me to confirm they are aware of an issue and have raised to their management. Can no one raise anything about an AD in case they were a competing AD? My intent was to see if anyone had received a similar email and to caution those that had to do similar investigations. Let’s consider it closed - we’re not going to agree.

Especially the month before Christmas, their busiest and most profitable time of year. OP please name the chain. Maybe others will have more success getting to the bottom of this matter.
