2nd Incoming and Done buying for a while!
I don't know if anyone remembers, but a while back I posed about searching for a watch for my upcoming wedding in April. An AD (no prior relationship) sourced a Polar Exp II for me and I jumped on it, later that day was called by a second AD offering me a Black Submariner Date which I had to politely decline...I had to really try hard not to let my mind wander if I had made the right choice or not.
Lucky for me I no longer have to ponder if the decision was correct or not (don't get me wrong, love love love the Polar Explorer II!), today my fiance and I were shopping for wedding bands at the AD that was kind enough to source the Polar Explorer II for me, when she turned to the store manager and said "if he wont ask, I will, there's another watch that he's really wanting do you happen to have one?" SM said, "let me check the back" came out with the Black SS Sub-Date and she told me I needed to get it. Side note, I had purposely not asked if they had any because I had just recently made the Exp II purchase and did not want to be selfish walking into a new marriage buying up a bunch of expensive watches. But, who am I to argue with the future wife?! That's no way to start and build a life together! I am now the proud owner of both the Polar Exp II and the SS Black Sub-Date and could not be happier!  P.S. Also got a handsome discount on the wedding bands, I assume from my recent Rolex purchases haha Good luck everyone, they are out there! |
