re-naming the Yacht-Master (if you must?)

Maybe you call it: "My other Rolex is a Rolex, Rolex - I & II

WTF???

Listen guys, ROLEX only landed on that name so as not to go near, or, imply any change to the Sub. One must never screw with success, right?

Rolex wanted another sport water watch. Since the sub-part is flawlessly covered they thought they'd have a crack at above the waves...

If Y-M sounds too snotty? Think of how oh, so, so many would be up in arms had ROLEX named it: "Putt-Putt-I" or, "Never-Dive" or, "Wavy-Time"

It ain't a GMT so, no conflict there.

Some folks pose questions akin to thinking out loud that too many of us are quick to answer. As an old friend used to say: Some questions are not worth OVER-thinking.

A submariner is merely one who goes under the ocean or, water. One may certainly go within a submarine and those in the Navy are referred to as submariners. Nevertheless, one who dives whether deep or not, is a submariner. Wherein now you have the relationship ROLEX wanted a submariner for a submariner.

In other words a diver's watch with a name that implies getting wet is OK for this watch.
