Just got my 41 this week... It’s the perfect size for me (8” wrist). No way I’d want a 36.

Milgauss is larger than the DJ41 in every way.

It depends on the wrist size. If its >7” go with 41, otherwise 36 is the perfect choice. 41 is also wears smaller than SubC

I bought a 36 and had it for about two weeks on my 7+ inch wrist before deciding it's just too small. I think the answer to your question really really depends on your wrist size. On a smaller/slighter wrist, the 36 looks fine. But otherwise I think the 41 is the right choice.

I have 7.5” wrist and 36 sits perfectly as far as I am concerned

Are you saying the Datejust 41 wears smaller than the newer submariner ceramics?

If so- I think I know my answer DJ41

36mm! Such a classic piece! And 36mm is just perfect size IMO!

When I was younger I thought size 32 trousers were perfect!

These days however I find myself leaning towards the 41’s.

I'm a big guy, 36 fits me great. Unless your wrists are gargantuan you can pull it off.

36mm is a classic. I wear it on my 7 1/2 inch wrist. It actually gets more wrist time than my SS Submariner Date.

DJII looked the best imo. I don't have a large wrist (6.5). The fluted bezel seemed more pronounce and the watch just has more presence. Plus, the DJII was cheaper by about $3k or so i believe.

Check out the DJII in person if you can.
x2

(BTW ...Owned and wore both, it's just a matter of budget, taste and interest. All 3 are great models)

There’s no right or wrong answer here. 41 if you have large wrist and 36 if you have smaller wrists. I ended up with the 36 because it fits me better. I think it’s cool that there are so many configurations that there is literally something for everyone.

The 36mm Datejust is the classic Rolex. The 41mm is targeting the younger buyers that like Invicta sizes.

My take: when I wear my 36, I forget I have it on. Its light on the jubilee, and fits perfectly in the hollow between my radius and ulnar arm bone joints at the wrist - almost as though it was designed for that (hint hint).

There is no substitute for the 36 DJ when it comes to the perfect "slide under a dress shirt cuff" rolex.

The 41 is, imho, basically a sport watch that dresses up. It is too large to meld in to the wrist hollow of many people and snags my shirt cuffs to a far greater extent than the 36.

Perfect didn't need to be changed imho, hence why the 36 DJ remains Rolex's top seller.

I'd get a DJ36 if it came in rhodium dial. Maybe in the future it will.

If I were to ever get the DJ, it would be the 36mm. For reasons many other fine gents stated, I feel like this is the classic.

Well, I would say that independently of the wrist size it's a matter of common sense and taste.
Personally I prefer the 41
