Best cleaner for Rolex watches.
I have steel and two tone, wondering what the best cleaner is, in the past I have used Veraet but I haven't heard much of them lately?

Wrist clean I believe is the best product. I don’t use anything else.

I think this is the new varaet? I assume it's the same product or similiar? I have a lot of the varaet left so I guess I will use that even though it's 10 years old, I just need a new brush.

Wristclean works best on SS, not as well on YG.

soak in shampoo or dish soap 1/10 mix. it breaks up the oil and dirt better. then rinse and wear. or use a soft toothbrush for added cleanliness.

Wristwatches are not made to wear in the shower. We are not 7 years old. All soap scum, water sediment will be blocked between pins, bars, under bezel and make everything stiff. Plus the alcohol and acid inside the shower gels will ruin your gaskets. The heat of the Hot water will also ruin the pearl and bezel insert adhesives as well as gaskets... |

just hand soap, or body wash for me usually. I make sure I rinse it thoroughly so soap don't get stuck.

I've never used except mild soap with lukewarm water. I never shower with any watch because it can affect the longevity of the gaskets.
I don't swim with watches whether in the sea or pool either, if you do, then it's better to rinse it with normal water after that. I use a natural bristle brush to brush out the bracelet on the underside. For watches with leather straps, I clean the case with a soft towel with lukewarm water and mild soap. |

For a deeper clean I use an infant tooth brush and some dish soap. For the full detailing I use the dish soap with infant toothbrush, then follow it up with the wrist clean which honestly seems to help keep it cleaner for longer. it repels water and seems to be a little more resistant to oils and finger prints after using the wrist clean. I will say for the "just wear it in the shower" camp, of course you can do that, But i tinker with my watches a lot, which means i'm constantly removing bracelets. When I clean my watch in the shower for a while without doing the other methods of cleaning, there is a thin soap residue that builds up in the hard to reach places of the watch. It's kid of like a chalky white residue. It's not a big deal, but if you're real picky about cleaning, it's definitely not the best way to do it, especially if it's your only way. |

Just drop it into your AD for a steam or ultrasonic clean, every now and again. Wear the dirt with pride in-between visits.

I just find that it does not leave the same luster on gold that a little dawn with a brush does or even jewelry cleaner. This is my experience after many years of using wristclean. This had been mentioned on another post a few years ago if I recall. Can't speak for WG.

I'm with you. Are we just over analyzing this a little bit? I am careful with my watches too. But the way I always saw it was that my Rolex is waterproof to 100m. Is made of anti corrosive 904L steel and solid 18 karat gold. And as far as the gaskets? They're not made out of tissue paper. They are made of materials to resist powerful chemicals. I think they can handle gentle cleaning solutions and detergents meant to go on the human body.
My choice is Head and Shoulders shampoo while in the shower. Works great at removing body oil from my hair so I figure it should work great for removing body oil and grime from my watch bracelet. Then 3 or 4 times a year I put the bracelet into an ultrasonic cleaner with all the families other jewelry. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |
