Easylink on 14060/93150
For anyone interested, it IS POSSIBLE to fit an Easylink onto a 93150.
I just came out of surgery and wanted to let everyone know that it was a total success! You will need to take the diver's extension off and the Easylink will fit right on with no other modifications being necessary. This part allows for a 5mm adjustment versus a paperclip being necessary to make micro-adjustments. The Easylink springbar can also be placed in any of the existing micro-adjustment holes in the clasp, creating a bunch of variations to work with. The part number is: B32-20193-D1 (which is the fully brushed version); there is also one with PCLs I believe. I also looked into the Glidelock option (I've read this is also an easy mod), which allows for various micro-adjustments on the fly, though the price was a bit too much for me. This option is perfect IMHO; having the one 5mm adjustment will be just enough come summertime. Just no more wearing my sub over the wet suit.. Before anyone asks, I do not have any more parts nor have access to them nor do I know where you can get them. Good luck and happy hunting.

Now THAT's a great idea! I love my 5-digit GMT-II but when I got a DJ last year the EasyLink was a game changer for me...

I put a Glidelock clasp on my 2-liner but an Easylink will also work. They both work with 15.5mm removable links.

So where is everyone getting their easylink links from? I was under the impression that Rolex no longer supplies these to AD's and will only swap out damaged/broken via a RSC if the original is returned.

They come up on EBay, in the classifieds, in threads. You just have to be alert because they won’t just fall in your lap.

Fantastic idea and mod. Thanks for the details.
Will have to look out for the opportunity. Thank you. Ps I have previously swapped the clasp from the 93250 over to my 93150. It avoids the dive extension of the 93150 from popping open unintentionally.

Rolex parts are becoming harder and harder to come by. Independents were mostly cut-off altogether...

That’s really a great mod Rita
When you say you just got out of surgery ... was that a quip about this mod or did you have a surgery? Regardless, I’m glad it was a success |

In a different universe you could just pop into any AD and they would happy to help you with updating the useless diver extension with something useful like the easylink. Dealer cost is probably $25-50. Instead you have aftermarket pricing which is $250-500 and Rolex would probably refuse to work on it if you sent it in for service with the mod.
I like Rolex a lot but some of their policies make no sense from a customer perspective. |

Though from a profit point of view, Rolex wants you to purchase a new watch. They rather you not be able to upgrade an older model with the newest and latest.

The thing I like about the older 5 digit bracelets is there is some play in them. It's like when they went to the 6 digit bracelets (which are admittedly much stiffer and fit like a handcuff. Not that I would know...) they also had to figure out a way to make them more on-the-fly adjustable. They have no wiggle room. I've never felt the need to adjust my 5 digit bracelet except once after spending two weeks in Hawaii. It was feeling a little snug at the end. As far as the dive extension goes I'm guessing it's designed for 7mm wetsuit. It's too much for a 3mm and too small for a drysuit. |
