16710 bezel insert genuine vs aftermarket

Hi guys, I am about to purchase a black bezel for my 16710, but wanted to ask if this one in the picture is genuine vs aftermarket. I am not an expert in bezels, so would like to hear your opinion on this. Thank you!

Im not an expert either but looks legit enough. My question to you is, if it looks real enough, does it matter? Wear it and enjoy it, and if it isnt what it seems, Rolex will replace it for you during the next service for around $100 and then you know it will be legit.

It looks genuine. The tell-tale sign is on the 2.

Having recently done this, a Pepsi bezel cost $56 directly from Rolex.

You would need magnified pictures to tell any possible difference, and even that could be difficult. If any doubts contact Rolex and contact what used to be Rolex authorized repair watchmakers. On some pieces, the four had serifs and this four does not have serifs so may be different for serial numbers through the years.

I've bought many over the years, all of which featured digits further from the perimeter than this insert. Those numbers look like they shall be too close (as in partially covered) by the bezel lip. Cheers

Looks genuine and recent.

I had a 16700 before with the bezel that came from the factory. The 2 is relatively thick. When i sent it to RSC last year for a new bezel, the 2 is as thin as yours.

I have seen serifs on the fours. This example has serifs on the fours. I have seen serifs on the fours and ones as well, so there must be multiple variations out there over the years of production.

No need to spend any more money on a black insert. The one you have is original.

By the way, try the reference library here to search out correct and fake GMT bezel inserts.

I've placed a couple threads there identifying fake GMT inserts with plenty of photos which should help you out.
