Confetti Dials

Saw an old 1803 and the seller said it comes with a spare dial called "brown confetti"...anyone have any insight as to whether or not it's a real face? Are they legitimate? I haven't seen them anywhere else other than a few pics on this forum.

If it's really the "confetti" dial it's legitimate. You can search around but it's a dial that ages in a certain way on datejusts and daydates that looks kinda like confetti on a brown/black surface. Pretty rare and marketed as such with high premiums. Here are recent listing examples.

Here's one I saw for sale last week. More reasonably priced... Can't comment on its condition myself at all though.
Personally not a fan of the bark finish. The dial is cool though.

Confetti dials, tropical dials, spider dials, faded inserts.
It amazes me how a premium is placed upon that which amounts to nothing more
then a defect.

That's kind of my thought too....I'm new to the watch world (not even a Rolex carrying member at the moment) but don't understand how certain flaws make a watch more valuable on the secondary market.

My apologies - it's an 1806....not an 1803. I'd been looking at a few 1803's when I initially posted. I'll blame it on being confined to the house an going crazy. I'm pretty new to this stuff; haven't bought a watch yet but have been reading up for a while. Found it on the website for a vintage store in NC but it's since been removed.

All I have are screenshots from a recording the seller took so the quality of the pictures is terrible. The watch would come with 4 dials - the three here and the one that's actually on the watch (some sort of super deep-gouged / rough cut 'Royal linen' thing that's probably after market). I think the silver is probably the original and the confetti could also be 'oxblood' but who knows.

I might have actually bought it if the guy didn't raise the price by $500 because 'i took too long to respond'.
