Question on Rolex Ladies DJ Power Reserve

How long is the power reserve supposed to be? My wife often after taking off her watch at night, finds it stopped with no power at mid day next. I'll wind it up then but still, not what advertised. If this covered under warranty? It would seem to be a watch worn daily running down after 15 hours is a defect.

Thanks

Is it fully wound up???
About 40 full turns of the Winding crown is required.
I think power reserve is around 42 hours.

I'm thinking I haven't been winding it 40 full turns, just 40 baby turns. Will do 40 full turns and see what happens. Am I correct you can't harm a Rolex by overwinding?

That is correct.
The Mainspring is designed to slip inside the barrel when it gets to a full wind to prevent undue stress on the broader mechanism.
When it reaches a full wind whilst manually winding it, one can feel and hear the Mainspring actually tighten up slightly toward the end then slip with a subtle/muffled click sound.
No harm can come of this and one could potentially sit there winding all day to no further advantage except to place unecessary wear and tear on the mechanism

Let us know how it goes?

Depends on the model, but most ladies movements have a power reserve of at least 35 hours and the newest 2235 has 50 hours..

However, it is activity that winds it and keeps it wound. It will stop on the wrist of anybody who spends their day reading, computer surfing, tv binging or even wearing it too loose so the rotor doesn't turn.

If it is a matter of inactivity, it would not be covered by a warranty. If there is, in fact, something wrong with the winding mechanism as manufactured, it would be a warranty issue.
