Tropical is in quotes in the description, and of course, there is a reason since its obviously damaged.

Looks like watch was left in the sun for most of it's 34 years, that said IMO tropical = damaged.

What the heck is up with this watch? It does look very attractive, but did someone do this on purpose? By accident? If it were a result of water intrusion, for example, why would the bezel fade to brown too? Case and bracelet look barely worn.

Natural or artificial, looks like at least one person loved it enough to buy it. Shows there's a pending sale for it on the website.

Cool look, for sure.

I picked this up recently and there’s something happening around the indices. It’s most prevalent at 2:00. And there’s also quite a bit of gold specks between 11:55 and 1:05.
I don’t know if I want my watch turning that “tropical” lol.

The lettering would have turned brown if it was oven baked.

Also, the fonts seem to be all there so I doubt anything has been done to the finish to alter it. This would be nearly impossible to chemically or artificially age the dial with out removing parts of the lettering or the white lettering.

You are getting corrosion around the markers which is common on some of the classic tritium gold surround maker dials.
