The premium isn’t that crazy on this one (compared to some of the Nautilus models). i wouldn’t mind paying market price if i really want one.

Try the white dial. I have i much prefer it over the blue. And you can buy for close to retail.

Hmm, I dont know about hardest to get. I just checked my ig and during one of our collectors gathering' pictures, there were two blue dial skydwellers in that pile along with a white dial in gold. I know there are at least four skydwellers among our bunch.

there's currently around 300 ceramic white daytonas, a roughly equal number of blacks, about 600 hulks, and about 400 ceramic pepsis available on Chrono24. All of these are listed in the 1.6-2x MSRP ballpark.

So I think pointing out there are <100 blue skydwellers selling at around 2x/msrp doesn't mean much compared to other hot models. I don't think this is anything unique with blue SD which sells at a relatively comparable premium. SD is less available at ADs and less sellers on Chrono24. But in reality any of these could be in your possession tomorrow if are willing to pay "market" price.

This forum is about knowledge, the sharing of information and hopefully shining light on issues which concern us all. 'Jumping' on a post, berating a simple question or offering useless remarks are not really what TRF is all about. But, as usual, some folks don't abide by this oh-so-basic policy. I totally agree with your comments.

For OP question: Hardest Rolex to get only sold to flippers?

I think some of hardest Rolex models was sold by ADs directly to Grey Dealers.

They must have a deal together, Greys will buy some hot models mix with some not very popular models, so ADs can get rid of the stock that they normally cannot sale. Definitely there are some flipper also but it isn't that many.

It’s also the only Rolex I’ve never seen in real.

I know a collector of over 100 Rolexes ( all new from ADs) but even to him the Blue SkyD is elusive.

However, on Chrono24 there are 91(!) for sale at roughly double the MSRP.

How is that possible???

The unfairness of the market conditions. Maybe this is changing but probably not

I would do that in a heartbeat but none have come in at my AD.

I didn’t buy from an AD, point was it’s the same price near enough if you want to buy one second hand. I paid 500 Over retail for a brand new in box (near enough)

My AD is still three years for black or white and piss off for a blue one !

I guess that ADs are selling them at a handsome profit out the backdoor to dealers. They want a share of the money to be made.

Likewise DD40 is a gold DJ41 with a $20 complication. Hehe. I still want one.

Rolex don’t care if the demand for SkyDweller rise or not.
They know for sure that SkyDweller will be produce in very limited pieces and from this most limited are blue dial. This thing will remain like this for many years from now because Rolex don’t want to put the most complicated movement on a large quantity of pieces. Don’t forget also that SkyDweller are made in big numbers in precious metal.
My AD told me like this:
On SkyDweller and Daytona problem is the low supply and from this two SkyDweller are the lower supply.
On Pepsi or Sub problems are high demand.

Haha, thanks for making that clear. I would actually prefer the white and two tone possibly as well! Thank you

Because ADs have become flippers themselves, I can get BNIB blue SkyD with my name and current date of purchase if I was willing to same price as gray market prices.

Watch: What's on my wrist
Posts: 33,256
I bought one of the first blue ones sold. It was too big for my wrist which I lived with. It is easy to set however it is a pain when it comes to wearing it in rotation as I always wanted it set up correctly. I ended up deciding that the watch would be better off worn by someone else (along with quite a few others of mine). I don't feel the allure of the SkyD anymore. Bye bye Sky!!! This is how I ended up with the Platona.

FWIW, the Subject could use some better punctuation; at first I thought it meant the "hardest Rolex to get sold to Flippers." I did try to sell mine to Bob's who said they already had a couple and really underpriced what they were willing to pay for it.

Hardest Rolex to get only sold to flippers?

In the meantime I’ve obtained both the BLRO and Blue SkyD from my AD, all it took was the purchase of two full gold Presidents (at heavy discount), which we wanted for our 20th wedding anniversary... :)
