Sorry for the long delay. $41.5K USD cash, plus I gave them an old 18K gold Bubbleback with a fairly sloppy redial. I was very happy with this deal, especially since some time remained on the original 5-year warranty for the DD40.

Loving this thread.
Question: What are your thoughts on YG with Black dial (with or w/o baguettes) I am looking for a YG DD40, and love so many, but am quite sure the black dial is for me. I don’t see a lot in here, wondering what others think of the black. Won’t hurt my feelings. Just curious. I bought a silly “Peugeot” on amazon just to see if I could handle a striking gold watch (first time ever)..and with a black dial. Holy cow, the minute I put it on I was sold. Had a few Rolex’s already, and sadly sold them. The local AD knows my goal was always the DD...and now, it may be happening. Yes, I had a green sub and an all black GMT, and sold them a few years back for a loss... and now.... good lord. Oh well. I enjoyed what I had. But all of them were merely steps to the DD. Anyway, thoughts on a YG DD40 with black dial? I wear slacks and nice dress shirt every day to work, occasional suit/tie, so the formality works for me. Thanks folks. |

Thank you for the thread as I love hearing what people think about one of Rolex's most note worthy models. In my own personal opinion, I think the most prestigious and timeless day-date model is the President. An article I recently came across online, said this:
"While the [Day-Date President] collection has evolved considerably over the past several decades, its core design remains the same. This enduring power, coupled with an impressive reputation, makes the Rolex Day-Date President such a widely sought-after wristwatch among some of the world’s more respected figures." I believe the President is the undisputed champ among the Day-Date models, but what do y'all think? I look forward to hearing what popular opinion has to say! *** Opinions Requested ***
Wanted to jump on this thread with; "Which one would you choose?" I am leaning towards the Olive Green dial for the distinctivness, but the dial is a flatter colour. The Chocolate dial looks stunning and really pops in the light.
