Have I been scammed???

Hi all

Wonder if anyone with purchasing knowledge can help me.

I have transferred money to someone I know for a Rolex Pepsi over a year ago. The person had a connection at Rolex and was able to get me sorted. However 12 months later I still have nothing.

Does anyone know what sort of production and distribution levels Rolex are working with at the moment? And also does anyone know at which point I would pay for a watch if I attempted to buy one normally? Would i go on a list and pay before getting on the list or when I have the watch?

Thanks

Can you still get ahold of the person?

How did they 'get you sorted'?
Typically you pay a percentage for down payment (10%) and you get a receipt with a worst case due by date usually around 6-12 months has been my experience.

So there is no scenario where I would pay all the money up front? I did it because he is a ‘friend’ of mine. Said he knew someone at Rolex who can get you up the list quicker and turn around would be about three months.

C’mon you all!
While it’s possible that this is a non-authentic question, it’s also possible that someone is just asking for advice.
I think the best response has been to ask for his money back and you’ll quickly find out what’s going on.
Good luck!

However, it is difficult to understand how you gave money to someone without any receipt, guarantees, signed paper, IOU, you name it.

And furthermore it is even more difficult to understand how it took you an year to have such concerns.

It would take me no more than 12 days

Seems you're trying to navigate in a forest without a compass.
Do you know anything about Rolex watches today.
Do you know how difficult it is to get a BLRO.
Do you know that no one not even an AD can guarantee when a person will receive a watch.
In any purchase situation, you never pay 100% without a confirmed delivery date or estimate.
Get your money back. You're not going to get a BLRO delivered from this source.

You've been scammed, used or manipulated....but what hasn't happened or likely will ever happen is that you will get a watch by this source.

I do agree though. This is so silly for an adult to do that it seems trollish just to get a reaction. Seems nowadays some people love feeding from this kind of attention party.

Agreed.

Or OP should define ‘sorted’ to help the rest of the post add up.

Too much going on to make sense.
