The "other" Patek Stainless Steel Sport Watch--Pricing

Up until a few months ago, I would see an occasional Stainless Steel Neptune (5080/1A) on Chrono24 or EBay. Asking price was generally $12,000 or so (which seemed pretty reasonable). Suddenly there simply seemed to be none available anywhere. This morning I found two listed on Chrono--one from a Spanissh dealer and one from a Greek collector. The dealer is asking $19,300 and the collector wants $23,500. I realize asking prices are not sold prices, but I wonder what people here with far more knowledge than me think of the jump in pricing.

Maybe I should have just called this thread "Neptune Pricing". I know there are some Neptune fans on the forum who might have thoughts on the subject.

I have noticed the same trend. There were a few unloved SS Pateks that have languished for years which are now catching bids.
