First Patek - 5235G or 5524R

First Patek is about to be bought. Both options available as full sets in very nice condition for just about 32K EUR. Which to choose... Any comments?

The one you like better... I'd get the pilot between the two. On a clean sheet I'd get neither I am afraid.

Just to add, if I wasn't sure which I wanted of two watches that different I'd consider myself not ready and take a big step back.

Get the regulator - unique movement, unique complication, unique buckle (not available in any other model). It's Patek's anti-Patek. I find the G much more attractive than the R.

I have the 5235g and dig it
It’s nice to have something unique and it’s really attractive in person

i own the 5524R and love it....but i also like the wg regulator a lot. both watches have limited amounts of PP DNA which can be a good or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it.

5235G : pick this one for a dressy choice
5524R: versatile choice.. kind of between a dressy and a sport watch.

I tried to not let my bias (because I own 5524R) interfere with my statement above but I can’t help it , a watch like 5235G probably would live collecting dust in my watch box ..Lol
But that’s me , if you want a dress watch, I think 5235G is a very unique Annual Calendar and could be the winner for you

Good luck
